Pixiwoo's Sparkling Gold Party Inspired ELF Makeup

After collecting product and swatch photos for the ELF Essential Beauty School Eye Shadow Palette in Natural and the ELF Essential Beauty School Cream Eye Shadow Palette, I played around with the Natural palette and came up with a look that later reminded me of Pixiwoo's Sparkling Gold Party tutorial.  Although her tutorial included glittery shadows and a stronger crease - I think this is a good example of mimicking looks from YouTube gurus and still stay under budget or tweak it to fit your style.

After I created this look, I went and filmed my QVC NewBeauty TestTube video and my Flat Iron Curls video, so it might look a bit familiar.

I used all 6 of the shades in the Natural palette, and since they aren't named, I won't try to write out the steps of how I created the look (that would be beyond confusing) but I'll be very precise in showing where I placed each shade in the tutorial.
The lashes I used are Ardell Lacies - I'm LOVING these extravagant lashes!

Shopping - Lush

This is barely even a haul, I only bought two items - one for me... and one for you! :)  I thought it'd be nice to buy a Lush item for my future giveaway that I have seen all over youtube and blogs, and since this is my first Lush purchase EVER, I bought something for me too!  I bought the Chilli Tingle Lip Tint.  Aside from the red-orange tint, I was also sold on this: "Spicy organic ground chilis plump your lips and make them tingle".  I LOVE tingly lip products, but I must be too tolerant because this has no spice at all, no tingle, no irritation, not even a scent of spice :(

It's still a nice tint though, so I'll keep it in my purse for my no-make days

10-24-11 FOTD & Pregnant OOTD

I don't normally film FOTD's or even OOTD's, but since I've been slacking on photographing my makeup to share my recent makeup looks with you all, I thought a quick video would be equally appreciated.
Now that I'm 5 months pregnant and showing quite a lot, I'm going to be doing some Pregnant OOTD's on my non-beauty blog, Life By Krystal - I'm posting this first one here on Beauty By Krystal just to let you all know what I'm doing and where it'll be posted :)

Now for my FOTD, my skin has been really nice lately so I mixed my foundation with some illuminating tinted moisturizer to sheer the coverage and add some dewiness.  I kept my eye makeup simple and added a bright lip to pep it up a bit.

Shopping - Archipelago

I purchased all these items for a Christmas gift to my Aunty.  She recently moved into a new house with her son, his GF and their baby twins.  I decided to buy her all bath products since she now has her own bathroom, and I think she might like pampering herself now and again :)
(I'm okay with posting this haul because she won't see this so it won't ruin the surprise)
I posted the photo of the packaging because this is the best packaging I have ever seen when ordering cosmetics online - the sides are packed with the inflated bags and covered with black tissue paper - plus there's paper dividers around all the products in the box.  I always appreciate thoughtful packaging.

I had a tough time picking the right scent for her, until I found the Oat Milk and Soy Milk collections.  I personally LOVE milk products for bath treatments because not only do they smooth your skin and keep you hydrated, but they are great for soothing and relaxing.  I bought her the Milk Bubble Bath (32.5 oz.), Milk Foot Soak (8 oz.), Best of Oat Milk Gift Set - includes travel sizes of Oat Lotion (1.7 oz.), Milk Body Wash (1.7 oz.), Oat Milk Hand Crème (1.25 oz.), Milk Lip Balm (.15 oz.).

I also got this 28 Days Natural PMS Relief oil roller ball (FREE when you make a $70+ order, plus they make a $5 donation in your honor to Breast Cancer Angels).  I'm not PMS-ey because I'm currently pregnant, but as a fragrant oil this smells great - so I'm holding onto it until I start needing it.

Shopping - Spalook

Last week I bought more giveaway goodies from Spalook, plus I used my $20 gift card that I received in my Summer/Fall NewBeauty TestTube.  Along with the gifts, I bought a few items for myself.  I have been really wanting to try the Korres Lip Butters ever since I saw beauty gurus loving them on Youtube month after month.  I bought Guava, which is a clear lip balm, and Wild Rose, which I bought mainly because of it's tint - I'm not a floral scent fan - but this fragrance is not overpowering and very easy to handle.  I love these, and I'm so glad I finally tried them out.  Guava stays next to my bed and Wild Rose stays in my purse.

I also have been loving my Philosophy Microdelivery Wash that I got in my QVC NewBeauty TestTube, and it's driven me to try other products they offer.  So, I decided to get myself their Kiss Me Very Emollient Lip Balm which is lightly tinted and has a peppermint scent - very refreshing!  I LOVE this stuff, I've deemed it permanent for my purse cosmetic bag!

I also received a FREE sample of Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant which is a rice based powder exfoliate.  Sounds nice, I have yet to try it.

NARS California Night Sun tutorial

Last week I posted a small haul from Sephora, and in that haul I bought two NARS eye shadows that Sephora.com has on sale at $8.00 each; California and Night Sun.  (I just checked and these $8.00 shadows say not in stock on Sephora.com - but they are still great shadows to buy if you see them in store).  I had a few people ask how these shadows could be worn and if I wore them together, so I thought a tutorial on how I've been obsessively wearing them would be helpful for those who jumped on these sale shadows or have similar colors.

Basically I wear California on the lid, sheer it out in the crease, and add a tiny bit to the outer half of my lower lash line (sometimes I stop here and just wear it on it's own).  Then I add Night Sun to the first 1/4 of my lid, the tear duct area and the first 1/2 of my lower lash line.  If I define my brows, then I'll add MAC Soft Brown into the crease to add a little dimension to the eye.  I've been lining my top lash line and water lines with Mally Evercolor Starlight Waterproof Eyeliner in Midnight (which I got in my Summer/Fall NewBeauty TestTube).  In the tutorial I'm only wearing one coat of Revlon Grow Luscious mascara, but normally I layer 2-3 coats of it for maximum volume and length.

Shopping - Sephora

Last week I ordered some gifts on Sephora and received 3 FREE samples with my order plus I got a FREE deluxe mini Escada Taj Sunset fragrance with my $25+ order using code SUNSET.
Escada Taj Sunset smells kinda fruity and reminds me of a body spray I would buy in Junior High School.
The 3 samples I chose were Someday by Justin Bieber (not a Bieber fan, but after choosing my other 2 samples there was nothing else I liked so I picked another fragrance - surprisingly it smells nice), Gucci Guilty (smells super gorgeous!), and Givenchy Very Irresistible L'Intense (I'm a long time wearer of Very Irresistible, and I LOVE this new scent!!!!).
