ELF Studio Translucent Matifying Powder

The ELF Studio Translucent Matifying Powder has been my go-to blot powder for over a year now. I've repurchased this twice already, and even bought an extra for my professional kit. I love that this powder is translucent because it never adds more coverage than I need, which means when I'm touching up my makeup, it won't make my face look cakey. I don't use the sponge applicator that it comes with because I don't find it works very well on me. I tend to use either a puff applicator or a tiny kabuki brush to dust my skin when I need to reduce some shine.

The packaging is very sleek and the large mirror inside is very useful. I would recommend this to everyone because we all could use a little matifying sometime in our day. I've also used this on BF in the past when we take photos, men don't care if they are shiny, but if we're taking a nice photo, I want him to look fresh too :)

Product Description: Achieve even flawless skin that’s smoother, redefined and shine free. This translucent powder works on a wide variety of skin tones to help set your makeup in so it lasts longer. The silky lightweight formula also miraculously mattes skin to diminish oil and shine for a beautiful and healthy look!
Directions: Use the sponge to blend in the powder over the face, neck and d├ęcolletage as a setting powder. Reapply as needed throughout the day for a refreshed look.

ELF Studio Tone Correcting Powder (Complexion Perfection aka "cool")

Studio Tone Correcting Powder (Complexion Perfection aka "cool") $3.00 / .48oz / 13.5g
Create a balanced and radiant complexion that is beautiful and healthy. The lightweight formula evens out skin tone and absorbs excess oil, and sheer formula brightens, mattes and neutralizes the skin. The colors are meant to be blended together as the Blue neutralizes orange, the Green neutralizes red, the Pink neutralizes grey and the Yellow brightens and neutralizes red.
Directions: Blend the powder over the entire face to brighten and even out the skin tone as well as neutralize any redness.

I first bought the ELF Studio Tone Correcting Powder about a year ago for my professional makeup kit. At the time I hadn't heard or read any reviews on it, so I didn't exactly know what to expect from it. I soon found out that it's a really good powder to have in your collection. Mostly I have used this to set makeup; liquid foundation, mineral foundation, tinted moisturizer, concealer. I believe it does a great job at correcting and setting makeup, although if you use it alone it won't really do much (other than make your skin look a little powdery).

You can either use the colored powders individually on specific areas that need correcting, or you can swirl your powder brush and use all four shades combined to have an overall, evened-out coverage. On days when I only wear tinted moisturizer and concealer, I will dust the 4-shade-combo all over my face and be on my way.

Yes, it can come off powdery, but if you use a little at a time, you won't pick up as much powder and you can buff it into the skin much easier. This can be layered as well; apply one layer, let it set in, then apply another layer, etc.

I would recommend this to everyone, because we all have uneven skin tones and areas that need a little more attention than others - this product is perfect for getting that natural look we all strive to achieve.

ELF Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer

I've been using the ELF Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer for about a year now, I also have a backup in my kit to use on clients as well. For only $6, this primer is fantastic! When I first started using it, it instantly reminded me of the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, $36.00. I had a mini of the Smashbox primer a while back, so when I started using the ELF primer I knew I had to do a review on it eventually. I think it's amazing that the ELF primer is such a close dupe for the Smashbox primer that has been getting a lot of love on beauty blogs and YouTube, and it's only a fraction of the price!

Word of advice, when you first purchase this primer, shake it up really well. When I first used it, I pumped out an oily substance, so after shaking it up, it's been a clear gel substance ever since. It has a light, clean scent but it doesn't last all day, so you don't need to worry about smelling like primer for hours. I have combination skin (oilier areas on my forehead, nose and chin, and dryer areas on my temples and cheeks) and this primer doesn't create more shine or oils. I has silica in it, so it applies very smooth and keeps your skin smooth all day.

Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas with the Mineral Infused Face Primer. Developed to combat against excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarged pores and fine lines. This clear multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a long lasting satin finish.
Ingredients: Cyclomethicone, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Silica, Penoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Propylparaben.
Directions: Apply to clear skin prior to makeup application. Use a small amount and blend evenly all over the face for a smooth and flawless base.

Anthony Logistics For Men - Glycerin Hand & Body Lotion

BF received a few products to try out and review. In the past I had interviewed him on a couple men's products and it went over really well. So, to all my male readers, here's a review on Anthony Logistics For Men Glycerin Hand & Body Lotion.

What is your skin type? Normal to dry, my legs and elbows are the driest areas on my body.
How long have you been using this product? Do you use it every day? About a week now. Yes, I use it everyday after my shower.
Is hand/body lotion important to you? Yes, because I have dry skin and lotion helps to cut down the static between my body hair and my clothes.
In comparison to past lotions, what do you like about this product? I like the citrus scent, it's long lasting and that it never leaves my skin feeling greasy. I prefer the pump action package too, it helps regulate how much product get used.
In comparison to past lotions, what do you dislike about this product? Nothing really, maybe the scent could be a bit lighter. Guys don't normally want to smell like their lotion, I don't really go for scented lotions. I'd rather smell like my cologne. I wish this lotion was unscented.
Is this a product you will repurchase? Yes.
Would you recommend this product to your friends/family/subscribers? Yes.

Objective: Get your skin working like it's supposed to.
Strategy: We mixed sea kelp to strength skin, shea butter to soften, aloe vera and glycerin to moisturize, chamomile to smooth and a nourishing bunch of vitamins - A, B5, C and E. Apply anywhere you have skin.

Tatcha Aburatorigami Beauty Papers

I have been using these Tatcha Beauty Papers, Original Aburatorigami ($19 for a duo pack on Sephora) for almost a year now. They have replaced my drugstore blotting sheets and blotting powders. I have been using these sheets to remove any oils on my skin prior to applying my makeup, I use them on days when I don't wear any makeup to help reduce my natural oils, and of course I use them to touch up my skin when wearing makeup for extended time.

My favorite thing about these papers is that no matter how many times you blot your skin, they don't mess up or remove your makeup. They absorb the oils cleanly without changing the effect of your face makeup. I can even use these on my eye lids to remove any extra oils they may be producing and my eye shadows don't lose their shape or pigmentation.

I love the original blotting sheets, but ever since I started using these new Evening Aburatorigami beauty papers, I've become a fan of both versions. I love how sleek the evening papers look, but mostly I appreciate their size. They are perfect for clutch bags when going out at night - awesome!
